"The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing." (Psalm 23:1)
"The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth that God governs in the affairs of men." (Benjamin Franklin)
We can never leave God out of the equation.
There is a story about an international group of scientists who gathered to discuss the value of God in our lives. They were some of the most brilliant, articulate, highly regarded professional men and women in their field. There was such excitement and anticipation surrounding the gathering. Worldwide media was present to cover this significant, news-breaking event. The whole world was anxious to know what these scientists had to say.
They met and discussed for hours the value of God in our lives and in the world. Finally, they all concluded that human achievement was so great that human beings no longer needed God. The question was, "Who was going to tell God?" They eventually chose one scientist to break the news to God. A meeting was arranged and when the scientist arrived, God was already there.
The scientist, speaking immediately, got right to the point, "God, we have decided that we no longer need you. All the great minds in the world agree that we are competent and resourceful. We have done many great things. We no longer need your help. The record speaks for itself; we have done many far advanced things-we can clone a human. So, thank you for everything but it is really time for you to go. We can handle it from this point."
God listened patiently and then said, "Very well, but first let me propose a contest. Since you can create human beings, let's do a human contest. In fact, let's do it the way I did it in the beginning with Adam." The scientist responded with zeal and enthusiasm, "Fine, no problem," and scooped up a handful of dirt. God looked at him, put his hand out and said, "Wait, wait a minute. Go get your own dirt."
How often do we leave God out of the equation-pushing God out of the way, saying, "I'll do it my way?" In truth, we can never leave God out of the equation, for we are one with God and God is one with us. Furthermore, there is no place that God is not.
Affirm: I am one with God and God is one with me.
"A joyful heart is good medicine..."
"When we let light flood us with its sunshine, all clouds vanish and we begin to see ourselves in new ways of doing, which lead to wholeness and health
and satisfaction and growth."
There is a perfect pattern for health placed within us, and that perfect pattern for health wants to express through us. It is important for us to be ever aware, keeping our thoughts and feelings centered on what we want. What we focus on grows and expands; so as we expect and focus on wholeness, energy, vitality, and health, this is what we will experience.
Deepak Chopra observed, "Our cells are constantly eavesdropping on our thoughts and being charged by them. Joy and fulfillment keep us healthy and extend life." We keep our thoughts and words pure, happy, uplifted, and filled with expectancy!
Affirm: I trust and know that all things are working out for my highest good,
for nothing is impossible to my loving God.
